Ridgeland dropped to 3-3 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 10-2 to the Heritage Generals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 on Tuesday.
Kailynn Bailey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jordyn Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.
On Heritage's side, Bailee Hollis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hollis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.
In other pitching news, Molly O'Brien tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
Back at the plate, Landry White was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Pritchett, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ridgeland is set to challenge their familiar foe Northwest Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Heritage will square off against rival LaFayette at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
