Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Quartz Hill's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Quartz Hill won the last time they faced Knight, and Ashantee Palmer did her part to make sure it happened again. The Quartz Hill Royals slipped by the Knight Hawks 47-46 on Tuesday thanks in part to Palmer, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Quartz Hill's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Samiia Cody, who posted five points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Knight lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kailah Holley, who earned 18 points. Holley is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Zaria Anderson, who had seven points along with nine boards and three steals.

Quartz Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Knight, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Quartz Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-58 defeat against Eastside on the 30th. As for Knight, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-33 loss against Lancaster on the 30th.
