Amador Valley and Dublin are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Dons will be playing at home against the Gaels at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amador Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Amador Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Livermore 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Dons, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Aaron Solomon was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Doan, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Amador Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Dublin's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Foothill by a score of 8-7.
Kaleb McElmurry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elijah McNeal was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Phelps, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Amador Valley pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Dublin, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3.
Both Amador Valley and Dublin just can't seem to miss. The Dons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Dublin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Amador Valley couldn't quite get it done against Dublin when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Will the Dons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
