Baseball Recap: Chavez's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Chavez barely beat McNair the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 8-2 win on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Joesph Baltazar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Baltazar was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, David Fierros and Juan Acevedo did most of the damage at the plate: Fierros went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Acevedo went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Chavez's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 3-23. As for McNair, they are on a 33-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Chavez will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
