The McEachern Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Newton Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Newton will take on a team with plenty of momentum: McEachern extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Indians blew past New Manchester 9-2. Nine seems to be a good number for the Indians as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Josiah Hatchett looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tyce Williams and Alijah Asad did most of the damage at the plate: Williams got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Asad went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Asad has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Wilbanks, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Newton waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Comets as they made off with a 10-3 win.
Caden Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kendall Turner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Newton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Newton pushed their record up to 19-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for McEachern, their record now sits at 22-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McEachern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Newton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
