The Schurr Spartans suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Alhambra by a score of 45-43. Schurr has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Megan Lai continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Alhambra, scoring 15 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Du, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Schurr has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Alhambra, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Schurr will head out on the road to take on Bell Gardens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Bell Gardens is ranked 541st, while Schurr is ranked 558th). As for Alhambra, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against San Gabriel at 6:30 p.m. San Gabriel is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
