Volleyball Recap: Oak Forest Gets the Win

Oak Forest won the last time they faced Hillcrest and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bengals came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bengals.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Oak Forest was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Shaylyn Mrofka and Rebecca Yerkes, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Betty Redican and her 14 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Hailee Morin, each putting up three.

Oak Forest's win bumped their record up to 9-20. As for Hillcrest, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Oak Forest and Thornton Fractional North will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
