The Conifer Lobos will take on the Golden Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Conifer has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 23.
Conifer fell victim to D'Evelyn and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 15-0.
Conifer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lola Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Golden got themselves on the board against Wheat Ridge on Tuesday, but Wheat Ridge never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Farmers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Adrianna Riddle made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daely Peterson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Lucca Merz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Golden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheat Ridge only posted a batting average of .143.
Golden pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Conifer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Conifer might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Golden when the teams last played back in September. Will the Lobos have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
