This season hasn't been kind to the Center Cougars, who are still winless after their sixth game. They lost to Varsity Opponent at home by a decisive 44-30 margin on Saturday. Center lost against Varsity Opponent in their previous head to head back in December of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-41 score last time.
Defeat or not, Center got some senior leadership from Madison Shirley Boudreaux who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and Miessah Sagun who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Sagun scored a full 33.3% of Center's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Laylarae Blake, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Center's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Varsity Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 38-157-3.
Center will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mira Loma at 5:00 p.m. Varsity Opponent's road trip will continue as they head out to face Houston at 3:45 p.m. on December 9th.
