Mission Vista's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 56-40 bruising from Rancho Buena Vista. While losing is never fun, Mission Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1024th, while Rancho Buena Vista is ranked 404th).
Despite the loss, Mission Vista still got an impressive performance from Claire Gaines, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Musnicki, who scored seven points.
Mission Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing El Camino the next time they take the court. Rancho Buena Vista will head out to face El Camino at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mission Vista will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
