George Washington has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Constitution Generals at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, George Washington came up short against Philadelphia Academy Charter and fell 44-31. While losing is never fun, George Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Philadelphia Academy Charter is ranked 194th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Raphaelle-Anne Compere, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Constitution also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Parkway Center City by a score of 46-34.
George Washington's record now sits at 2-7. As for Constitution, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
George Washington took a serious blow against Constitution when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 49-19. Can George Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
