It was a good run, but the Dana Hills Dolphins unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santa Margarita. If Dana Hills hoped to take revenge for the 53-39 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the defeat, Dana Hills saw an underclassman step up: Kayla Rice scored 25 points along with six rebounds. Ally Fausett was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Dana Hills' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-4. As for Santa Margarita, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-10.
Dana Hills' road trip will continue as they head out to face El Toro at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully El Toro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday. As for Santa Margarita, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against JSerra Catholic at 6:00 p.m. JSerra Catholic is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
