The Northern Cambria Colts lost against the Portage Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Northern Cambria had to suffer through a rough 56-21 loss at the hands of the Mustangs. Northern Cambria has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Portage had a senior duo take command as Jenna Burkett scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and Alex Chobany scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. Chobany is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Brooke Bednarksi was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.
Northern Cambria has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Portage, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Conemaugh Valley the next time they take the court. Portage will head out to face Conemaugh Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Northern Cambria will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
