They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 59-21 victory over Making Waves Academy. With Cornerstone Christian ahead 45-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Mecca Alexander, who scored 27 points. The matchup was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Balogun, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds.
Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Making Waves Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will take on California Crosspoint at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California Crosspoint will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1039th, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 145th). As for Making Waves Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Contra Costa Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
