In what's become a running theme this season, the Rio Linda Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 52-9 victory over Mesa Verde at home. Winning may never get old, but Rio Linda sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Rio Linda's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Walton, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyrri Mitchell, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Rio Linda is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Mesa Verde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Linda will challenge Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 841st, while Rio Linda is ranked 377th). Mesa Verde won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Del Campo at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
