Westhill has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cortland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Purple Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Westhill's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Cortland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Westhill came up short against Phoenix and fell 5-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westhill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Holstein, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Holstein has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Cortland waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 17-7 victory. With that win, the Purple Tigers brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.
Cal Albright made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Albright was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Caden Albright was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Muir, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Cortland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive games.
Cortland's record now sits at 5-1. As for Westhill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Westhill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cortland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Westhill was able to grind out a solid victory over Cortland in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
