The Brockway Rovers lost against the St. Marys Flying Dutch back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Brockway was dealt a 63-31 loss at the hands of St. Marys. Brockway has not had much luck with St. Marys recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Brockway's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rheanna Spinda, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds. Spinda scored a full 45.2% of Brockway's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kalina Powell was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 5 steals.
Brockway now has a losing record at 1-2. As for St. Marys, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Brockway will look to defend their home court on Monday against East Forest/West Forest at 7:30 p.m. St. Marys will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DuBois Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
