The Tamaqua Blue Raiders lost against the Blue Mountain Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Tamaqua took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tamaqua in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.
Tamaqua lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samantha Plasha, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Lauren Ligenza, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Tamaqua's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Blue Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
Tamaqua will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Panther Valley is ranked 258th, while the Blue Raiders are ranked 248th). Blue Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
