West Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Nolan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nolan has scored all season. Tess Hydrick was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Yreka lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alexes Collier. Despite the final result, she scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Collier is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmie Freitas, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
West Valley is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Yreka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-14.
West Valley will head out on the road to square off against the Cubs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Yreka, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Lassen is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
