Jenkintown has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Renaissance Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jenkintown scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Morrisville by a score of 48-38.
Meanwhile, Renaissance Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 35-25 victory over Faith Christian Academy.
Renaissance Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dallis Stewart led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Stewart is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Saydi Daye, who scored 12 points.
Jenkintown's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Renaissance Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Jenkintown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-30 loss to Renaissance Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Daye, who scored 17 points along with six steals. Now that Jenkintown knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
