Central hasn't had much luck against Northside recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions will square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Northside's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Central will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating South Paulding, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lions came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-2 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Central got a great performance from Trent Harrison as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaylon Allen, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Allen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Northside came out on top against Harris County on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Patriots blew past the Tigers 12-1. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.
Chris Biggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Biggs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Northside got a massive performance out of Max Thrash, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Thrash has posted since back in March. Fisher Taft was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Central's record is now 20-7. As for Northside, their record now sits at 18-7.
