The Washington Prexies will head out on the road to square off against the Monessen Greyhounds at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Washington is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Last Thursday, Washington didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Bethlehem Center, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory.
Washington found their leader in underclassman Olivia Woods, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Woods is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taraysia Finley, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Monessen gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Avella with a sharp 59-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monessen.
Washington is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Monessen, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.
Washington skirted past Monessen 40-38 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
