The Upland Highlanders/Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-29 walloping at the hands of Chino Hills. While losing is never fun, Upland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Huskies are ranked 204th).
Havili Hinilei matelau and Fritzi Avila certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hinilei matelau scored six points along with five rebounds, while Avila scored five points.
Upland has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Chino Hills, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upland will face off against the Cougars at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chino Hills, they will head out on the road to square off against the Grizzlies at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Los Osos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
