Bear River is 0-10 against Colfax since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bear River Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colfax Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bear River sitting on five straight victories and Colfax on nine.
Last Friday, Bear River strolled past Sutter with points to spare, taking the game 53-39. Given Bear River's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Sutter is ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Colfax stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-21 win over Center at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-10.
Colfax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaia Diederichs, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Diederichs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Jade Biittner was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.
Bear River has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Colfax, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Bear River was taken down by Colfax 82-41 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bear River was down 44-20.
