The Corcoran Panthers will face off against the Monache Marauders at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Corcoran is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
Corcoran took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Porterville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Corcoran skirted past Porterville 3-2.

Brennan Botill made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Botill wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cruz Portillo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Portillo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monache). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Golden Valley a 14-0 shutout on Monday. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Monache also got a great performance from Eldric Flores as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Cooper Baxter was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Tyson Chavez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Monache always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only posted an OBP of .118.
Monache's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Corcoran, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Corcoran has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monache struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Corcoran might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Monache in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
