Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Takes a Loss

If Blue Ridge was feeling good fresh off their 15-4 takedown of Roanoke Catholic last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Blue Ridge came up short against The Covenant Eagles on Tuesday, falling 18-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Barons of the 9-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Blue Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Darrin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Darrin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Blue Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for The Covenant, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Blue Ridge will challenge Fork Union Military Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blue Ridge is facing Fork Union Military Academy at the right time seeing as Fork Union Military Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for The Covenant, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Trinity Christian at 4:30 p.m. The Covenant's pitchers better be ready for this one: Trinity Christian has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
