Kimball is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Franklin. Kimball enjoyed a cozy 60-43 victory over Franklin.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kimball to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabrielle Robinson, who went 7 for 12 en route to 19 points plus five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Arendt, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points plus seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Washington 38-34. The Lions were up 27-11 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mia Cayton, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in offensive rebounds (four). Another player making a difference was Shyanne Smith, who earned eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
