The Wyalusing Valley Rams lost against the Williamson Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Wyalusing Valley had to suffer through a rough 71-40 loss at the hands of Williamson. While losing is never fun, Wyalusing Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Williamson is ranked 242nd).
Leading Williamson to victory were Olivia Meisner and Taylor Rae Jones. Meisner dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Jones scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Meisner hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 17 straight games. Avery Vinsek was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Wyalusing Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Williamson, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Wyalusing Valley has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wellsboro at 7:30 a.m. on February 9th. As for Williamson, they will head out on the road to take on Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Williamson's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Athens' offense will have their work cut out for them.
