After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waynesburg Central, the Washington Prexies were happy to have found some success on Monday. They walked away with a 44-31 victory over Brentwood. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Washington also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Washington found their leader in underclassman Olivia Woods, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Woods is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaprice Johnson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Washington pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Brentwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will challenge Frazier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brentwood will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
