Alma extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 7-16. They fell 14-10 to the Ogemaw Heights Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on Saturday.
Alma saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Helinski, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Keith Dargitz was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As for Ogemaw Heights, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games.
On Ogemaw Heights' side, Henry Brooks made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Brooks posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matchups. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ogemaw Heights got a massive performance out of Conner Lambert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Lambert has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Edgar Potter, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Coming up, Alma will welcome Carrollton at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ogemaw Heights, they will be playing at home against Bullock Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
