Last Monday, everything went Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' way against East Valley as Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences made off with a 51-31 win. The win was just what Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences needed coming off of a 75-15 loss in their prior match.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lara Ledesma, who scored 16 points, and Angelina Beshara, who scored 18 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Beshara has scored at least 25% of Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Burnside, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Northridge Academy really took it to Fulton for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-5 victory at home. 62 seems to be a good number for Northridge Academy as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Northridge Academy had a senior duo take command as Estrella Alejo dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds and Divya Kishore scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for Kishore. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Perez, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Northridge Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences lost to Northridge Academy at home by a decisive 38-23 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
