Baseball Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Clayton Valley Charter extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 19-3. They never let the Alhambra Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Alhambra, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8. The game marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Alhambra's part, they got a good showing from Ethan Kushner, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kushner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alhambra saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Cowperthwaite, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Logan Lease also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
