The McGuffey Highlanders's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged Brownsville out 45-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McGuffey also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Taylor Schumacher continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Ewig, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
McGuffey's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Brownsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGuffey will take on Yough at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yough has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Brownsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charleroi at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charleroi is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
