Downtown Magnets is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-18 heartbreaker at the hands of Animo Bunche. One positive for the Suns, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Downtown Magnets had strong showings from Rachael Lee, who posted seven points and ten steals, and Alexa Antolin, who earned ten points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Antolin a new career-high in steals.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Central City Value's strategy against USC-MAE on Friday. Central City Value put the hurt on USC-MAE with a sharp 32-11 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.
Downtown Magnets better focus on containing Kimberly Jacinto and Dayara Moreno as the pair were huge in Central City Value's win. Jacinto dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Moreno put up seven points along with six boards and five steals. Jacinto is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Esther De Leon was another key player, putting up no points and four steals.
Central City Value smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Central City Value is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points per game. As for Downtown Magnets, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Downtown Magnets has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 20.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Central City Value struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
