The Casa Roble Rams will take on the Rio Linda Knights in a tournament on Wednesday. Casa Roble is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
If Casa Roble beats Rio Linda with five runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Rams walked away with a 5-2 victory over Center on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Aidan Lopez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Ian Peatross was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nate Stillman, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Rio Linda owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over El Camino. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Ayden Crawford made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Crawford was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Rio Linda is undefeated when Crawford posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Martinez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Peyton Greenfield also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Casa Roble's record is now 11-9. As for Rio Linda, their record now sits at 13-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Casa Roble has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rio Linda struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Casa Roble came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Linda when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
