The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning will take on the Creekside Christian Academy Cougars on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lanier Christian Academy comes in on three and Creekside Christian Academy on 13.
While Lanier Christian Academy's victory against Young Americans Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lightning narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lightning have posted since March 13th.

Lanier Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Strabala, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Strabala is becoming a predictor of the Lightning's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Another was Tres Criste, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Creekside Christian Academy took on Peachtree Academy on Monday. The Cougars never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Carter Mcginnis made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trey Gatlin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Daylen Williams was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Creekside Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lanier Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lanier Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Creekside Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
