Phinn Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Reggie Bell was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hall, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Stevenson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenfield struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Monterey's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollister on Thursday. The Dores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Stevenson, their record now sits at 16-7.
