Basketball Recap: Huntington Beach Wins Going Away Against Kennedy

After losing to Kennedy the last time they met, Huntington Beach decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Huntington Beach Oilers enjoyed a cozy 47-33 victory over the Kennedy Fighting Irish on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Oilers.

Kennedy's loss came despite strong showings from Ariana Navarro and Jessie Collins. Navarro posted seven points, while Collins earned eight points and 14 boards. Navarro is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Gonzalez, who put up four points and six rebounds.

Huntington Beach has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Kennedy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington Beach has already played their next game (against Corona del Mar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kennedy has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Santa Ana.
