After soaring to 55 points the game before, the Berwick Bulldogs were a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They were the victim of a rough 46-21 loss at the hands of Pittston. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Berwick has suffered since December 2, 2023.
Berwick's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Grace Robbins, who scored 11 points, and Gabby Starr who scored two points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Starr has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. RaeAnna Andreas was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.
Berwick has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Pittston, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Dallas at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th. Dallas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Berwick in Pennsylvania (Dallas is ranked 180th, while Berwick is ranked 384th). As for Pittston, they will head out on the road to take on Hazleton Area at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hazleton Area knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Pittston likes a good challenge.
