The Selinsgrove Seals have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 43-28 victory over Mifflinburg on Friday. For Selinsgrove, this counts as revenge for the 30-28 loss Mifflinburg walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Selinsgrove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kristin Shaffer, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Shaffer also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Howell, who scored 17 points.
Selinsgrove's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Mifflinburg, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Selinsgrove and Waynesboro will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Mifflinburg will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
