The Crestwood Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Aurora Greenmen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 456 points over their last seven contests.
Last Friday, Crestwood beat Berkshire 58-47. Given Crestwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Berkshire is ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crestwood can attribute much of their success to Charlie Schweickert, who scored 18 points, and Dekota Johnson, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Augie Schweickert, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Aurora waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 49-43 W over Cuyahoga Falls.
Crestwood pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. Aurora's record is now 7-4.
Crestwood beat Aurora 80-72 when the teams last played back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crestwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
