The Juniata Indians managed to keep up with the Penns Valley Area Rams until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Juniata was the victim of a rough 51-29 loss at the hands of Penns Valley Area. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Juniata has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Juniata still got an impressive performance from Haley Mummah, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Leading Penns Valley Area to victory were Scotty Dinges and Ellie Romig. Dinges scored 16 points along with five steals, while Romig scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Dinges is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydnie Dalton, who scored four points along with four steals.
Juniata's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Penns Valley Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Juniata will head out on the road to face off against Millersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Millersburg is coming into the matchup with four straight wins at home, so Juniata is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Penns Valley Area will take on Tyrone at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Penns Valley Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
