The Saguaro Sabercats can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Arcadia 81-47 on the road. Considering Saguaro has won six matchups by more than 24 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Saguaro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexa Simpson, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Simpson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marley Jackson , who went 6 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists.
Saguaro's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Arcadia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saguaro will face off against Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesquite presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Saguaro in Arizona (Mesquite is ranked eighth, while Saguaro is ranked 61st). Arcadia and St. Mary's will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
