Basketball Recap: Torres Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Torres had won two straight home games and JLynn Mitchell did her part to make it three on Friday. The Torres Toros were the clear victor by a 55-29 margin over the Corcoran Panthers thanks in part to Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Ariana Garcia, who posted two points in addition to seven boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Corcoran's loss came despite strong showings from Natalie Luna and Zoee Cabral. Luna had five points along with five boards and three steals, while Cabral put up seven points and nine rebounds.

Torres' win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Corcoran, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.

Torres wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 36-32 victory against Mendota on the 21st. As for Corcoran, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-36 defeat against Kerman on the 21st.
