The Sonora Wildcats will face off against the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sonora comes in on seven and Hilmar on eight.
Sonora had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against Gustine on Saturday as Sonora made off with a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Sonora, who have now won 14 matches by three goals or more so far this season.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
 Estrella Machado and
Reese Kuykendall, who scored all four of Sonora's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 41 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Hilmar kept a clean sheet against Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Saturday. They blew past the Bobcats 6-0.
Sonora's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those seven games. As for Hilmar, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3-7 record this season.
