McDowell scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 77-76 to the Taylor Allderdice Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Dragons are ranked 171st).

This is the second loss in a row for McDowell and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Taylor Allderdice, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

McDowell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cathedral Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Taylor Allderdice, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brashear at 3:15 p.m.
