The Valwood Valiants will take on the Baconton Charter Blazers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Baconton Charter will be up against a hot Valwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to ten. The Valiants put the hurt on Madison County with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday.
Colson Smith spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayden Purvis, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Dywan Powell was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Baconton Charter never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Randolph-Clay as they made off with a 17-0 win.
Preston Hurst was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cruz, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Baconton Charter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.
Valwood's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Baconton Charter, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Valwood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Baconton Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Baconton Charter in their previous matchup on March 5th, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Valiants repeat their success, or do the Blazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
