San Diego is 0-4 against Olympian since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The San Diego Cavers will be taking part in a tournament against the Olympian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row dating back to last season, San Diego turned things around against Sweetwater on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Red Devils 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavers have posted since April 26, 2024.
Jeremiah Stepner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Stepner was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, George Carabet looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zavier Anderson, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shun Shirayama, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
San Diego always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Olympian got the win against Kearny on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Josh Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aramis Berrios, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
The win made it two in a row for Olympian and bumps their season record up to 4-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for San Diego, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
