Lincoln fell victim to Leland's stalwart defense on Wednesday and couldn't make it onto the board. Their rough 3-0 defeat to the Chargers might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, Leigh's game on Monday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Leland.
Leigh was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Kayla Pham and
Maggie Currie, who scored both of Leigh's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 15 so far this season.
Lincoln has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season. As for Leigh, they pushed their record up to 15-0-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
