It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Hawthorne Cougars had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Rebels 2-1. The victory was just what Hawthorne needed coming off of a 13-0 loss in their prior matchup.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Z'NIAYA FLEMMINGS and
LUZ SOLARES, who scored both of Hawthorne's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 33 so far this season.
Hawthorne is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. As for California Academy of Math & Science, they now have a losing record at 6-7-2.
Hawthorne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. California Academy of Math & Science also has no future games currently scheduled.
